Seal Creche

Every year, the SRRC receives around 200.000 visitors. One of the SRRC’s main objectives is informing as many people as possible about the problems seals are facing. In order to inform them, visitors are able to actually take a look around the SRRC’s seal kitchen, and experience the care and treatment of rehabilitating seals from close by. Every day, there are SRRC- workers available in the visitor centre and in amongst the pools, who explain and answer the visitors’ questions.
Kids playing indoor
Children are an important target group, because they decide the future of Dutch wildlife even more than adult visitors. We want to teach them to respect each individual animal. Therefore, we make an extra effort to inform today’s youths. Children can play interesting and educational games in the kids action corner, while the youngest play in the indoor sandpit.
In the SRRC’s cinema, which is adorned with a unique mural by artist Anne van Borselen, informative films are being shown for people of all ages. Visitors can learn about seals, the Wadden Sea and the SRRC’s activities throughout the world, in the spacious visitors centre.
The SRRC is open to the public every day (including Sundays and bank holidays) from 9 AM until 6 PM for a small fee of €2, - (day ticket). Children under three and SRRC supporters have free access.
